The information has been arrived at from a number of source, although the Commonwealth War Graves Commission is the primarily source. Where the original memorial has not been inspected the source for the names inscribed is Rotherham and District War Memorials by F Westwood & A Featherstone. In some circumstances the spelling of the name on the memorial has proved to be different from the other sources.
With the limited details shown on the memorial certain names have been difficult to positively identify the individual and as a result some assumptions may prove to be incorrect.
Additional casualties are listed where a link with Rotherham has been ascertained. Further details of some of the casualties are know and will be included in the future.
