Seymour was Educated De La Salle and later employed as an Assistant Manager at a Rotherham Store. He enlisted in August 1940 School, Sheffield. Lived at Main St Baths, Rotherham Son of Thomas William and Elizabeth Paine, of Rotherham, Yorkshire. Ste Marie Cemetery, Le Havre Blenheim aircraft Z7494 lost on an operation to Le Havre, France from Wattisham airfield. Z7494 was one of two 226 Sqdn Blenheims lost on this operation. Airborne, together with Z7493, at 13:46 to attack a tanker reported at le Havre. Both shot down by Me109s in the target area. 12 Blenheims on escorted raid to Le Havre docks. A tanker and a 10,000-ton merchant ship were claimed but the long, steady bombing run employed resulted in 2 Blenheims being shot down. |

As she rolled over to port, her after magazines exploded and the ship quickly sank with the loss 862 members of her crew. There were 449 survivors.

Former Rotherham United footballer Lived at Priory Estate, South Elmsall Noordwijk General Cemetery Beaufort IV serial number W6522 coded OA-K crashed in the North Sea off Holland. Having taken off at 00:44 from Thorney Island on an operation to bomb a Rotterdam E-boat base. The Beaufort was hit by flak from Hoek van Holland and crashed into the North Sea killing all onboard. Pilot P/O James O.H. Willing rests in Sage War Cemetery, Germany while Pilot P/O Ralph L. Blackmore RCAF and W/Op-Air Gnr. Sgt. James Parsons rest in Noordwijk General Cemetery, Holland. They were both washed ashore on Noordwijk Beach. Blackmore on 5 July 1941 and Parsons on 6 September 9 1941. On 12 August W/Op-Air Gnr. Sgt. Harold K. Orme was found washed ashore on the beach of Havgård between Hjerting and Sædding near Esbjerg and laid to rest in Fovrfelt cemetery, Esbjerg on 18 August 1941. |
